Masterson’s Tavern , located in the heart of Moonee Ponds , promotes itself as a chic “hipster” locale , but my most recent experience at this establishment resulted in an experience I’d rather forget . While the bar may present a friendly façade, what I encountered behind its entrance was disgraceful and unfit for any venue.
The Condition of the Premises : Filthy and Abandoned
From the moment I stepped inside , it was clear that hygiene was not a priority at this bar . The surfaces were tacky , and a overpowering stench of old alcohol and filthy restrooms polluted the entire bar . With a smell of a mixture of urine , decay and a sickly smell. The counter , which should be the main attraction of any pub, was littered with unwashed glassware and debris that looked like it had accumulated over weeks.
